Mangaluru: A sea plane which has the capacity to land on water as well as on land arrived at Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday. This special plane which was proceeding from Colombo in Sri Lanka to Abu Dhabi in the Middle East called in at MIA for refueling at 1:30 pm in the afternoon.
The plane in question is a private plane and consisted only of the pilot. The plane had flown a person from Abu Dhabi to Colombo and was on it return flight. The crew of the plane had already requested permission from the airport a few days back for refueling on its return flight which had been approved. They have paid the landing and parking fee.
Such an aircraft is commonly used abroad. A tourism plan based on a similar plane has been planned in Kerala. Previously, discussions have been held in karavali regarding the implementation of such planes for promoting tourism here.
