Bengaluru: Anganwadis (AWCs) across Karnataka will be reopened on November 8. The state government has ordered the AWCs to be open only from 10 am to 12 pm.
Rations will be delivered at the doorsteps of those children who prefer to stay back at home.
However, AWCs will be allowed to reopen only in taluks recording a Covid-19 test positivity rate below 2 per cent. Also, it is mandatory for all Anganwadi workers (AWWs), helpers (AWHs), and parents of beneficiaries visiting AWCs to have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Social distancing must be maintained and wearing masks is compulsory for all. The number of children to be allowed in AWC will be decided based on the seating capacity of AWC.
AWWs and AWHs have been directed to get a Covid-19 RT-PCR test, irrespective of their vaccination status. Also, while making food wear a headgear/head cap and apron must be worn.
Health appraisals must be conducted daily and the staff must closely monitor children for symptoms such as fever, cough, throat pain and difficulty in breathing. If any of the children display these symptoms, they should be separated from the rest and taken to a nearby public healthcare centre by their parents.
