Anganwadi construction at Malavoor through MIA funds

Bajpe: An Anganwadi centre has been constructed in Malavoor as part of the Integrated Child Development Services programme to combat child hunger and malnutrition by Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) in line with Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The construction of the new Anganwadi will cost around Rs 15.64 lac and will be funded by the AAI. Children from SC, ST and other backward communities as well as from BPL families can avail services of the Anganwadi.

Airport director V V Rao handed over the cheque to president of Malavoor gram panchayat to start the construction of the new Anganwadi, during a programme at the Malavoor panchayat premises on Friday, August 10th.

The gram panchayat president will be in-charge of the overall maintenance and the construction work will be managed by the panchayat raj engineering division.
