Mangaluru: Commemorating the appointment of Sullia MLA, S Angara as a cabinet minister, MLA U T Khader said that the demands of Sullia people has been fulfilled.
Speaking to the reporters he said, “We are happy that S Angara has been given a cabinet minister’s post. Angara has faced injustice in the past and he finally got justice”
“We have no objection on Kota Srinivas Poojary continuing as DK district in-charge minister, but we demand clarification from the government. Why can’t Angara be made the district in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada? He is a senior leader with an experience of 30 to 40 years,” he added
Condemning the abolishment of Taluk panchayat system, Khader said, ” We strongly condemn the statement made by some leaders to abolish taluk panchayat system in the state. Is it possible for the state government to make an unconstitutional move? What was the motive behind their statement? They must issue a clarification”
Also, talking about ministers’ disgruntlement during cabinet expansion, he said, ” Several ministers claimed that the ministerial positions were given due to blackmail. We need a clarification regarding the same. Also, It is not right to insult the Chief Minister of the state. BS Yediyurappa is being insulted by his own party members. Chief minister must be given respect. BJP state president should clarify on the same”
