Bengaluru: Former MLA Anil Lad, who quit the Congress party after being denied a ticket, joined the JDS party on the night of April 18, in the presence of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. He will contest from Ballari City constituency.
Upset over being denied a chance to contest for elections, Anil Lad had stated that he would contest against the Congress candidate. But in a surprise move, Lad joined the JDS instead of contesting as an independent candidate.
Anil Lad met JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy and obtained the B-form for the Ballari City constituency, where the party had earlier announced to field Allabaksh Munna.
