Ankola: Chemical-laden lorry, enroute to Mangaluru, goes up in flames

Ankola: A lorry carrying a load of chemicals caught fire on National Highway 63 near Vajralli in Ankola taluk.

It is said that the fire started after the lorry collided with another vehicle. It was carrying chemicals from Hubli to Mangaluru via Ankola at the time.

Fortunately, there were no human casualties in the incident. The lorry driver escaped unharmed, however, the lorry was completely gutted in the fire.

A team of the fire brigade, forest department, and police personnel reached the spot and cooperated for extinguishing the blaze. A case has been registered at Ankola police station.
