Annual religious festival of Sri Mahalingeshwara temple commences in Kalathur Village

The serene village of Kalathur is set to host its annual religious festival, promising spiritual fervor and cultural festivities. The focal point of the event, the revered Kalathur Sri Mahalingeshwara temple, will witness a series of rituals and ceremonies under the guidance of Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada, of the Paryaya Sri Puthige Matha.
Commencing on Apri 25, the festival will span until May 9, with a myriad of religious activities planned each day. Among the highlights include the dedication of the new stone sanctum sanctorum of Lord Mahaganapati, re-consecration ceremonies, and elaborate rituals such as Brahmakalashabhishekam and Sahasra Nalikera Mahaganapati Yaga.
Brahmakalashabhisheka, Naga Mandalotsava will be held on May 1 and 2.
This will be followed by a procession and various rituals, culminating in the grand finale on May 9.
Local villagers from Kuthyar, Padur, and Kalathur will actively participate, showcasing their devotion through rituals like the green load procession and deity re-consecration ceremonies.
Moreover, cultural programs featuring renowned artists will add vibrancy to the festivities, continuing until the commencement of the Brahmakalashotsava.
In a religious meeting scheduled for May 2, esteemed dignitaries including Sri Subrahmanya Seer Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Sripada, will impart their blessings and wisdom to the gathered devotees.
A series of rituals including flag hoisting, Prasanna Puja, and the distribution of Prasadam, will mark the successful conclusion of the extravaganza.
