Apex Court Order Impact: Brave Women Forcefully Shut Liquor Shop in Hukkeri

Belagavi: A group of women at Kanagal village in Hukkeri taluk of Belagavi district damaged  liquor bottles and thrown them out of the liquor shop on Saturday and later the brave ladies shut the liquor shop forcefully in the wake of the Supreme Court order.  The shop owner opened his liquor shop on Saturday even if the Apex Court ordered to shut all liquor shops, bars and others establishments from selling liquor within a distance of 500 meters from national, state highways in the country from July 1, 2017. 

The women earlier, had warned the shop owner to close his shop as it indirectly turned a burden to them. However, the shop owner didn’t take steps for its closure even on Saturday.
