Apply thru Seva Sindu portal to avail Rs 2k Covid financial assistance

Mangaluru: Following Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s announcement regarding Covid package for workers in unorganized sector, district Deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V on Friday briefed people how to avail the financial assistance.
A one-time compensation Rs 2000 can be availed by workers of unorganized sector after applying through Seva Sindhu portal. For this purpose one can visit the nearby Seva Sindhu center and fill prescribed form alongwith photo and provide documentary evidence viz. Aadahr card, ration card , voter ID card, mobile number, self-declaration and employment proof, authenticated by an officer.
Proof of employment can be obtained from any one of the officers like revenue officers, revenue inspectors of city corporations, city municipalities, town municipalities, and town panchayats.At taluk level the same can be obtained from tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, revenue inspectors, revenue officers. In gram panchayat limits the certificate can be obtained from PDOs, secretary, labour inspector, labour officers, and assistant labour commissioner.
Further, the DC stated that registering oneself on Seva Sindhu Portal is not necessary for construction workers who possess the labour card. The money will be directly deposited to their account.
Outstation people residing in district with local BPL cards can also avail the benefit of this scheme.
