‘Aradhane’ of Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji held

Udupi: The Aradhane of Shiroor Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji, who passed away on July 19, was held at the Shiroor Moola Math here on Wednesday, September 5. A portrait of the Seer was placed in front of his Vrindavana.
Rituals such as Shudha Punyahavachana, Panchamrita Abhisheka of the idols at the Math were performed on the banks of River Swarna. Other rituals such as Panchakalasha Homa, Pavamana Homa, Navakapradhana Homa etc were performed thereafter. Devotees of the seer were allowed to pay floral tributes to the portrait kept near Vrindavana.
Srinivas Tantri and Vedavyas Bhat of ‘Dwandwa Sodara’ Math were in-charge of the rituals. Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Palimar Mutt offered prayers in memory of the seer at Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple in Udupi. There was ‘Anna Santharpane’ for devotees here and in Udupi. They were also handed saplings in memory of the seer.
The Aradhane, which is usually held on the 13th day after the death of a person could not be held earlier as the moola mutt was in police custody for investigation reasons.
