Argument between fishermen from Gangolli and Bhatkal

Udupi: Officials of fisheries department had to intervene after a clash broke out between fishermen from Gangolli and Bhatkal at Gangolli fishing port of Byndoor taluk after the former objected to the presence of around 20 fishermen from Bhatkal citing coronavirus scare.
Citing the number of coronavirus positive cases in Bhatkal, the Gangolli fishermen urged that outside fishermen should be barred till the lockdown is relaxed completely.
The situation was brought under control and eight boats alongwith the 20 fishermen were sent back.
Speaking on the issue, Anjanadevi, deputy director of fisheries said that he communicate the information in this regard to all the fisheries officials of Uttara Kannada district.
