Arnab Goswami files petition in SC against multiple FIRs against him

New Delhi: Republic TV Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami on Thursday, April 24 filed a petition in the Supreme court over multiple FIRs filed against him in various parts of the country post his comments on Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi in the wake of Palghar mob lynching on April 16.
As per sources, At least 16 complaints were filed against Goswami in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh
Goswami filed the petition to put a stay on prosecution and quashing of the cases filed. He sought a stay on any action that may be taken against him.
In his petition, he mentioned that the FIRs and complaints were filed across various states and he would be unable to be present in multiple courts and police stations in the matter.
A bench of Justice D Y Chandrachud and M R Shah is scheduled to hear the case on Friday, April 24 at 10:30 AM via video conferencing.
