Arvind Srivastava takes over as General Manager of South Western Railway

Hubballi: Arvind Srivastava has officially taken up the mantle as the General Manager of South Western Railway today, March 1, 2024.

Belonging to the 1987 batch of the Indian Railways Stores Services (IRSS), Arvind Srivastava holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. Srivastava commenced his journey with the Indian Railways on March 6, 1989. With over three and a half decades of dedicated service, he has occupied several key positions across various regions and roles within the Indian Railways.

His previous assignments include stints in Eastern Railway/Kolkata, Diesel Locomotive Works/Varanasi, Railway Board/New Delhi, Rail Wheel Factory/Bengaluru, and South Eastern Railway/Kolkata. Noteworthy among his roles are Chief Materials Manager at Rail Wheel Factory/Bengaluru, Executive Director/Vigilance/Stores in Railway Board/New Delhi, and Chief Vigilance Officer in Rail Wheel Factory/Bengaluru.

Before assuming his current role, Srivastava served as the Principal Chief Materials Manager of South Eastern Railway/Kolkata. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise garnered from various training programs, including the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD/Singapore & ICLIF/Malaysia, Anti-Corruption Measures at the International Anti-Corruption Academy/Luxemburg/Austria, and World Bank Procurement Matters at the Administrative Staff College of India/Hyderabad. Additionally, he has participated in a Workshop on Strategic Management Issues at the Indian School of Business/Hyderabad.

Srivastava succeeds Sanjeev Kishore, who retired from the position on February 29, 2024, upon reaching his superannuation.
