Hyderabad/Bengaluru: The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) on Monday said it will not take part in the upcoming assembly elections on May 12 in Karnataka and instead it will support the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S).

Speaking to the media MIM boss Asaduddin Owaisi said “We need a non-Congress and non-BJP government in Karnataka for qualitative development,”

“All our efforts and endeavour would be to ensure that the JDS gets maximum number of seats. (HD) Kumaraswamy should become the chief minister and the party led by Deve Gowda should be ruling Karnataka,” Owaisi said.

The Hyderabad MP said if needed he would address open meeting with an intention to help the JD(S) party headed by former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.
