Assault on minor: BBMP corporator’s wife arrested

Bengaluru: Marappana Palya ward corporator M Mahadeva’s wife Sudha was arrested by the Nandini layout police for allegedly assaulting a minor, who happens to be the daughter of her domestic help over theft of Rs 5000 from her house.

The teenager used to often visit her mother at the corporator’s house and took away Rs 5000 from a cupboard when no one was around. When Sudha noticed the missing money she questioned the girl and thrashed her before recovering the money.

The police arrested Sudha on the basis of complaint filed by the victim. Sudha was later released on bail.

A senior officer said that a case of assault was registered but the girl and her family later took back their statement and said they wanted to withdraw the case.
