A video showing a group of young men violently assaulting another youth has gone viral on social media.

It is said that the incident took place either at Salettur, Vitla, or Puttur, though the exact location is not confirmed.

No police complaints have been registered regarding the incident.

The group of assailants can be heard speaking in a language associated with the Muslim community and thus it is believed that they may all belong to the same community.

The assault seems to be related to an issue involving a girl, as the attackers are seen forcing the youth to unlock his mobile phone. The video shows the youth being beaten so severely that blood is seen coming from his lips.
