Assistance to manage natural disaster

Mangaluru: In case of an occurrence of a natural calamity during the monsoon season, all form of assistance will be provided, said Raj Kumar Khatri, Government Chief Secretary of the Disaster Management Division and the Revenue Department speaking at the preparation meeting regarding southwest monsoon on Saturday.
He appreciated the precautionary measures and plans taken up by the district administration and the software created by the Deputy Coimmissioner.
NDRF force has been appointed and the all departments must work with cooperation, he directed. He inspected the fire brigade which was fully equipped even before the arrival of the monsoon and told them to manage the work properly.
Importance to preventing disaster
Speaking on the occasion, Home Secretary Umesh Kumar said, give importance to prevent disaster with the availability of the latest technology.
Regional Commissioner T K Anil Kumar directed that people lying in flood prone area must be provided with information regarding safety.
Dr Shrinivasya, West Zone IGP Arun Chakravarty gave directions. Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, DK ZP CEO Dr Selvamani, SP Laxmi Prasad, ADC Venkata Chalapati and officials from Dakshina Kannad and Udupi districts participated in the meeting.
