Ather’s family scooter Rizta to have biggest seat in the segment

Press Release, Feb 7, 2024, 9:01 PM IST

Ather Energy, a prominent player in India’s electric scooter industry, has been generating excitement with teasers about its upcoming family scooter, the Rizta.

Recently, Tarun Mehta, CEO of Ather Energy, took to social media to share a revealing comparison of Rizta’s seat with those of two leading scooters in the segment. Tarun Mehta showcased images highlighting Rizta’s substantially larger seat compared to competitors. He stated, “There are a lot of folks who love @atherenergy but wanted a bigger scooter from us. So when we were designing our family scooter, we made sure we tick that box.” Mehta’s tweet hinted at the Rizta offering the largest seat in the market, promising a comfortable riding experience for both the rider and pillion.

Although Mehta did not explicitly name the competing brands, investigations revealed that the seats being compared were from the Ola S1 range and the Honda Activa, both dominant players in their respective segments. The noticeable difference in size affirmed expectations that the Rizta would provide ample space and comfort.

While details about the Rizta remain scarce, sightings during testing suggest Ather’s focus on targeting the family scooter market. Recent tests featuring two riders and additional load showcased the scooter’s practicality and suitability for everyday use, particularly in family settings. The spacious floorboard area further indicates Ather’s family-oriented approach.

Amidst a surge in demand for electric scooters, Ather strategically positions itself to cater to diverse consumer needs with the Rizta. Emphasizing precision engineering and proudly bearing the “Made in India” label, the forthcoming family scooter is poised to elevate comfort and safety standards, reflecting the brand’s commitment to exceeding expectations.

Ather has already announced the launch of the Ather Rizta during its Community Day 2024, signaling an imminent official announcement. With anticipation building, consumers eagerly await further details about this highly anticipated addition to the electric scooter market.
