Attack on Tanveer Sait: Shobha seeks ban on PFI

Bengaluru: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Wednesday, November 20 informed that she has written a letter to the union government seeking ban PFI follwoing the murderous attack on former Karnataka Minister and senior Congress leader Tanveer Sait on Sunday, November.
Addressing presspersons while campaigning for by-elections in Yeshwantpur Constituency Shobha said, “I had written a similar letter to the union government after the murder RSS worker Ramesh in Shivaji Nagar. The PFI organisation should not only be banned in Karnataka but should be banned across the country.”
Following the attack on Tanveer sait, reports had surfaced alleging role of PFI and its umbrella organisation SDPI in the murderous attack. However, SDPI and PFI have rubbished all the reports and any such claims and has distanced itself from the attack on Sait.
Tanveer Sait was attacked by a man with a knife at a wedding in Mysuru on Sunday night. The 52-year-old Narasimharaja constituency MLA, was immediately rushed to a hospital in Mysuru where he underwent surgery. Hospital sources said his condition was serious and he is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit.
