Mangaluru: A shopkeeper allegedly molested a minor girl at Kavoor on the outskirts of the city.
Following a complaint at the Mangaluru Police Station, a POCSO case has been registered against the accused, identified as Mustafa (35) of Panjimogeru.
According to the complaint, the girl lived with her mother in a rented house in Kavoor. They bought the vegetables from the shop run by Mustafa.
Mustafa allegedly pestered the girl to share her mobile number whenever she went to the shop. However, she had declined to do so. When the mother called him over the phone on some errand, he saved the number and started calling the girl.
On July 8, Mustafa entered the house when the girl was alone and tried to molest her. He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the matter to anyone, the complaint said.
