Attempt to sell Cheetah skin: 10 arrested

Kundapur: 10 persons were arrested by a team led by Kundapur zone forest officer and Bengaluru forest CID inspector on the charges of attempting to sell Cheetah skins worth lakhs of rupees. The operation was conducted based on definite information and the arrest was made at Shastri Circle here on Friday Jan 18th.

The arrested have been identified as Sooraj (34) from Karwar, Raghu from Bhatkal (30), Praveen Rama Devadiga, Nagaraja (25), Mohan G Naik (24), Sanjeeva Poojary, Subhramanya (34), Jhonson (32) from Honnavar, Virendra Shetty (35) from Taggarse and Nagaraj (28) from Byndoor.

The skins were brought from Bhatkal and Byndoor areas. Cheetah skin worth Rs 35-40 lakh, 1 maruthi car, 1 amaze car and 11 mobile phones have been seized.
