Avane Srimannarayana movie review: Narayana impresses with unlimited wonders

Cinema creates a far more visualised fictional world for one’s beautiful dreams. It’s up to your creative ingenuity on how you make such fantasy worlds. Rakshit Shetty and his team have mastered the techniques of creating such worlds and his new venture “Avane Srimannarayana” immerses you in one such fictional world.

Rakshit, appearing on screen after three years has continued to destroy traditional cinematic and narrative techniques. This avant-garde effort of the team can be much appreciated.

The movie, as mentioned, is set in a fictional world with the time period being unknown. This is appropriate as the story is apt for such unbounded chrono.

The opening is about the pursuit of a lost or hidden treasure. Narayana, a cleaver policeman seeks it. The ways and means he adopts and the bumps he ditches is the crux of this film. The story is serious however the narrative lacks it.

The film runs in fantasy mode throughout. It can be taken in as a means of keeping the audience entertained. Most importantly, Narayana’s character has been made to laugh by toning down on his seriousness. As mentioned earlier, there is no room for logic in the fictional world of Amravati.

The hero will oftentimes morph into a superhero, so, just enjoy the magic of the moment here and cut out all logic. A recurring line from an in-movie drama is very core to the story. Check it on the screen to know it.

The production of the movie shows a profundity lacking in contemporary outputs. In times when built-up sets are almost being drowned out, this movie makes itself an outtake from such a process. Especially when the concept of ‘world-building’ is unknown to our industry.

A new world has been created through the set but that wasn’t further sharpened in the film’s narrative. The referential narrative is utilised where many scenarios show a glimpse of the main story.

The finer aspects of the movie have been focused well. Director Sachin has won on his debut. The whole film is fully carried through by Rakshit Shetty enjoying his role of being wise and lovable.

Shanvi Srivastava’s accompaniment is well laudable. Overall the story is not dependent on the protagonist and other characters – Balaji Manohar, Pramod Shetty and Achyut Kumar are equally powerful.
