Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration: Akhand Ramayana Parayana from Jan 19 in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: On the occasion of the consecration of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Mangaluru Prantha of Samskrita Bharati , covering Mangaluru, Udupi, Puttur, Kodagu, andKasaragod, is organizing the round-the-clock  ‘Akhand Ramayana Parayana’ from January 19 to 21 at Sanghaniketan in the city.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Sanskrit Bharati Parntha Pramukh Sathyanarayan KV stated that the inauguration program would be held on January 19 at 3 pm, followed by ‘Ramayana Parayana’ until January 21 at 4 pm.

The 24,000 Sanskrit ‘Shlokas’ of Valmiki’s Ramayana are divided into 24 groups based on the Bijakshara of the Gayatri Mantra. Each team, comprising at least 20 individuals, will recite about 1000 verses during this Parayana, lasting over 51 hours. The continuous recitation practice has been ongoing for the past month, he mentioned.

It takes approximately 2 hours to recite about 1000 shlokas, and the public can join the program at their convenience, he added.
