B Ramanath Rai to be the Home Minister of Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Government has declared B Ramanath Rai to be the next Home Minister of Karnataka.

After Dr Parameshwar became the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee the post of Home Minister was vacant and B Ramanath Rai was reportedly called upon by chief minister Siddaramaiah to the latter’s residence. The CM is learnt to have held discussions with Rai regarding handing over the charge of the home ministry to him. It is learnt that the CM also conveyed the Congress high command’s wishes on the matter.

The appointment will be officially announced today in the Cabinet Meeting.
