Babri Masjid anniversary: Prohibitory orders invoked within city commissionerate limits on Dec 6

Mangaluru: Prohibitory orders have been called into force within the limits of the commissionerate on December 6, by an order issued by the city police commissioner T R Suresh on Wednesday, December 5. The order has been issued under section 35 of Karnataka Police Act 1963.

Accordingly, a complete ban has been imposed on public and religious functions, political meetings, processions and similar events from the 6 am of December 6 to the midnight of December 6 in the district.

This order has been invoked as there are chances of pro-hindutva organisations celebrating victory day and Muslim organisations observing black day on December 6 as it is the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid.
