Bengaluru: Regardless of the Congress high command proposing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to challenge from Badami constituency in Bagalkot region, the party’s sitting MLA from the constituency B Chimmanakatti on Wednesday communicated his perception to look for re-election.

Chimmanakatti, a former minister, met senior leaders and communicated his slant to challenge from his home seat. Prior, the party recommended Siddarammaiah to challenge from Badami as it intend to deny the ticket to Chimmanakatti because of his ill health.

In spite of the fact that Siddaramaiah is keen to challenge from Chamundeshwari, the party has recommended him to compete from Badami as the constituency has an expansive number of Kuruba community voters to which Siddaramaiah has a place.
