Bag snatching incident: Police nab 19-yr-old suspect

Udupi: The police on Wednesday, December 26 nabbed a 19-year-old youth, suspected of snatching a handbag from a woman near Baliga block of KMC hospital in Manipal police station limits within hours of the incident.

The arrested, identified as Mohammed Fahad is a resident of Udyavar Melpete. 

On December 25 night Fahad had targeted the woman after noticing that she was alone and made away with her bag containing valuables with the help of his aide, who happens to be a minor.

Police confiscated vanity bag, two ATM cards, driving licence, an Apple Iphone-X from the possession of the suspects. They also recovered a bike used by the suspects for the robbery. 

The arrests were carried out under guidance from Udupi sub division assistant SP T R Jaishanker, additional SP Kumarachandra and SP Laxman Nimbargi.
