Bagalkot: City centre opens after 48 days

Bagalkot: The centre of the city which had been shut down since March 22 was opened on May 9.

The first COVID-19 case in the district was detected at the Aadat Bazaar area here. The patient, an elderly man, had died later.

Since then, the area was completely shut. On Saturday, May 9, people from this area were allowed to move out for essential shopping.

Vallabhai Circle here witnessed minor crowding. Some were seen not wearing face masks and maintaining social distance.

Shops that opened had to spend the entire period of relaxation till afternoon cleaning the shops due to rat infestation.
