Bagalkote: 9 killed in a gruesome accident

Bagalkote: 9 people were killed on spot when a lorry hit a bullock cart in -Raichur State Highway, on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Chandraiah Veeraiah Hiremath (52), his wife Rathnavva (48), their daughters Kashavva (26) and Vijayalaxmi (28), Basavva Goravara (62), Gangavva Hugara (58) and Siddavva Hugara (60) who were daily labourers. Two of the injured Sanganabasavva Hiremath (68) and Gangavva Bheemappa Goudar (44) who were admitted in the hospital later succumbed to injuries. All the deceased are from Rakkasagi village.
The bullock cart was fully damaged and the two bullocks carrying thge cart were also killed in the accident. The lorry which was transporting tur dal rammed at the bullock cart. The lorry driver is absconding and the tur dal sacks spilled out across the road disrupting traffic on the highway for more than two hours.
The police have registered a case and are in search of the absconding driver.
