Lokapura: Dayanand Kadappa Ankalagi, a resident of Hebbal village here, has been included in the International Book of Record for his achievements in yoga.
Dayanand set the record by performing Shirishasana (standing upside down) on a brick for about 2 minutes.
Dayananda had earlier won many awards at various State and national-level yoga competitions. He had studied yoga in Bengaluru and works as a trainee at Aadhyatma Yoga School.
“I had always aspired to achieve something big. My goal is to promote Indian yoga in the country and abroad. I also desired to bring fame to my village. I would like to thank my yog teacher Appanna Bilagi and Dr Mahantlinga Shivacharya Swamiji and Dr Ananda Venkata Subramanya for supporting my yoga training by providing free meals, lodging, clothing and more,” said Dayanand.
