Balaganapati immersion ceremony: Clash between two groups leaves one injured

Kapu: Two groups clashed with each other on some unknown reason during the immersion procession of Balaganapati of Padubidri was in progress on national highway 66 opposite Narayanaguru Mandir on October 8. Allegedly, a local, Krishna Salian, was injured in the head as he was hit by a stone and it is also said that a death threat was posed to him.

In his complaint to Padubidri police, Mr Salian stated that during the procession, Hemaraj, Dinesh and Snehit Karkera, all of whom are known to him, used expletives against him post which Snehit Karkera hit his head with a stone, duly inflicting injury.

The police have started an inquiry into the matter.
