Ballari: People stand in long queue for hours to buy tobacco products

Ballari: Following the lockdown relaxation in the state, many people in the district stood in long queues to buy tobacco products on Thursday, May 21 from 5 am to buy tobacco products.
Hundreds of people stood in front of grocery stores, Vimal-Gutka dealer shops, chewing tobacco shops near the old bus stand of Hagaribommanahalli town in the district.
It is gathered that only 2 pockets are distributed per person and the retailers were selling 1 packet at Rs. 125. Due to the surge in prices, customers went directly to wholesale dealers and bought chewing tobacco products.
After the lockdown relaxation, tobacco product dealers were planning to sell four times more than the actual prices.
Even though, the products were sold at normal retail price, people stood in long queues without social distancing.
