Bandh hits normal life in Chikkamagaluru District

Chikkamagaluru: Chikkamagaluru bandh called by pro Kannada organisation has hit normal life in the district on Friday. The bandh has been called against releasing water from Chayachi dam to Hassan district by Kannada groups and the bandh has received support from the public also. The police have taken necessary precautionary measures in the wake of bandh.
Meanwhile, the organisation staged protests at various parts of Chikkamagaluru town by burning tires, shouting slogans and other means. Vehicular movement including KSRTC, autorickshaw and others has been completely stalled following the bandh. The traders, shop owners have registered their protest by shutting their shops, commercial establishments and others.
