A counter-complaint has been filed by a woman alleging that bank officials claimed that they entered her house without permission, abused her verbally and attempted to assault her.
Earlier, a complaint had been filed by Chaitanya HC, a Relationship Manager from State Bank of India’s Puttur branch alleging that bank staff, Akash Chandrababu and Divyashree had allegedly been threatened with a pistol, while they were at a residence concerning loan repayment.
The counter-complaint, filed by Keerthi Akhilesh, a resident of Balnadu Ujirupade, states that three unidentified individuals arrived in a car and unlawfully entered her home. They allegedly threatened her, saying if she couldn’t repay the loan, she should accompany them. Furthermore, they warned her that if she reported the incident, they would file a complaint accusing her of threatening them with a pistol.
The complainant said that the incident occurred on September 25 at around 3 PM when only women were present in the house. The assailants reportedly entered the yard without permission, did not disclose their identities, and intimidated her with loud and abusive language, claiming they would seize her house and throw her onto the street, the complaint alleged.
Among the accused, two individuals named Chaitanya and Akash allegedly grabbed Keerthi and attempted to assault her, while another accused, Divyashree, is said to have provoked them, according to the woman’s complaint.
District Superintendent of Police Yatish visited the Puttur rural police station and discussed the incident with the media. He confirmed that complaints have been lodged by both parties and that an investigation is currently underway.
