Shirva: A car rammed into a high-tension electric pole on Bantakal- BC Road main road on Tuesday early morning.

While the car occupants escaped unharmed in the incident, the electric pole broke midway and was precariously dangling from the wires due to the impact of the collision.

The car was proceeding towards Shirva from Katapadi. It is gathered that the driver fell asleep behind the wheels and this led to the accident.

Mescom officials rushed to the spot and the power supply was cut off as a precaution.
