Bantwal: A two-wheeler crashed into a tree, killing the rider on the morning of Tuesday, March 12. The accident occurred on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway at Maripalla in Bantwal.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Akshit from Amtadi, was employed in a private company in Mangaluru and was returning home after finishing his night shift.

The accident occurred around 4:30 am, shortly after he departed from work.

Akshit was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru following the accident, but could not be saved.

Bantwal Traffic police have visited the spot. They have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
