Bantwal: Three persons have been arrested for physically assaulting a bus passenger near Siddakatte blaming him of harassing girls on the bus.

The accused have been identified as Chetan, Kishore, and Manohar.

It may be recalled that Isaac (43) of Talapady in B C Road was assaulted with wooden logs by three persons who accused him of misbehaving with a girl.

Isaac, who works as a mason, was reportedly made to get down at Kudkoli near Siddakatte on December 14 and forcibly taken to Rayi in an autorickshaw and beaten up.

He is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru for the injuries sustained in the attack.

Isaac had attributed the assault to an incident that took place two days prior to the incident. He alleged that he had held onto the handbag of a girl student when the bus moved suddenly during rush hours.  This was construed as harassment and the trio had attacked him, he had said.
