Bantwal: 3 arrested in Farangipete photographer’s murder attempt

Bantwal: The police here have arrested three accused in connection with the assault on a photographer in Farangipete.
The search for the fourth accused, identified as Sawad, continues.
The arrested three are Mohammed Arshad (19), Abdul Rehman (22) and Mohammed Saifuddin (22).
On the night of October 28, at about 7:45 pm the four assaulted Dinesh Shetty, a resident of Kottinja in Pudu village, with a knife at his studio in Farangipete.
The attack took place after most of the shops in the commercial building had shut. Shetty suffered serious injuries to his head, hand and stomach and was immediately rushed to a private hospital at Mangaluru.

Recently there was a case of sexual harassment of a girl in Kumpanamajalu. Dinesh Shetty had supported the girl’s side in the case. One of the accused in the case, hence, wanted to kill Dinesh for doing so.
While the four had attacked Dinesh, a witness, Shekhar Poojary, hit two of the accused with a chair injuring their hands and making them run from the spot.
Bantwal police station registered a case regarding the incident and arrested the three after a search. Search is underway for the fourth accused.
