Bantwal: Accused absconding in theft cases nabbed

Bantwal: Bantwal rural police have arrested the accused who was absconding for several years without appearing in court in connection with theft cases.
The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Shafi, a resident of Suratkal Chokkabettu. He was produced before the court which remanded him to 15 days judicial custody, police said.
Mohammed Shafi was accused in a theft case in Bantwal rural police station limits in 2017. He had later gone into hiding. Besides this, many cases related to theft were also registered against him in Bantwal Town, Vitla, Uppinangadi, Belthangadi, and Konaje police stations, police said.
