Bantwal: Bike rider killed after being hit by private bus

Bantwal: A motorbike rider died at a hospital on Sunday evening after being hit by a private bus at Kalladka.

The deceased has been identified as Latheesh (28), a resident of Murabailu in Goltamajalu in Kalladka.

Latheesh was returning home on Sunday morning after visiting a temple on a motorbike when the private bus moving from Vitla knocked him down at Kalladka. The bus was reportedly speeding at the time of the incident.

Latheesh, who worked as a mechanic, was seriously injured in the incident and was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru in critical condition. He died in the evening without responding to treatment.

Traffic SI Suthesh visited the accident spot. A case has been registered.
