Bantwal: A blueprint for the development of a lake near the famous religious site of Polali Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple has been prepared.

A 3D model of the entire project is ready. The plan is to transform the lake into a tourist destination with an all-weather access road, a walking track, a parking area, and gardens around the lake’s periphery. The blueprint also aims to introduce recreational boating facilities at the lake.

As per estimates, the works will require about Rs 3 crores. Presently, efforts are underway to pool money from various grants for the developmental work said Chandrahasa P, Gram Panchayat president of Kariyangala village where the lake is situated.

The lake development work has already been started in the Amrita Sarovar project. When completed the project will take up 7 acres of land including the lake, he added.
