A moving car suddenly caught fire near Kudkoli on the Bantwal-Moodbidiri road this Monday morning (April 8). Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
It is suspected that a battery short circuit led to the fire.
It is gathered that the Duster car belonged to Sarath Shetty from Elinje’s Kollettu. Four persons, including a child, travelling in the car when the fire broke out. The car’s brakes allegedly failed to stop it, and the driver’s quick reflexes prevented any casualties as he managed to bring the vehicle to a halt.
Despite the car being completely burnt, all occupants managed to escape unharmed.
Local residents and the Bantwal fire brigade cooperated to extinguish the flames. The road was temporarily blocked for about an hour due to the incident.
