Bantwal: Decomposed body found in Netravati river

A decomposed body has been found in the Netravati river near Shambhur AMR Dam, Bantwal. Workers at the AMR Dam came across the body and immediately reported it to the rural police.

The police have reported that the body appears to have been in the river for about 15 days, making it impossible to determine the person’s gender. However, they did find a flashlight in the individual’s hand.

Currently, the police have transported the body to the Bantwal Government Hospital, where efforts will be made to identify the deceased.

Bantwal Rural Sub-Inspector Harish, along with officers Suresh, Puneet, and Mahadeva, recovered the body from the Netravati river. Harish has confirmed that the body has been preserved in the local hospital’s mortuary until the relatives can be identified.
