Bantwal: A dog that fell into an abandoned well was rescued by Bantwal Fire Brigade personnel near Gandodi in Modankap on Monday morning (May 6).

According to locals, the dog may have fallen into the well three days ago and had gone unnoticed as no one was using the well.

However, when the dog was discovered in the well, Vishwanath Shetty, a resident of Gandodi, called the police at number 100, who later informed the fire brigade.

A firefighter then descended into the well with the help of a rope and secured it around the dog. The dog was safely rescued.
