Bantwal: The police raided an illegal abattoir at the house of Adam at Loretto Tippu Nagar in B Mooda village, seized 210 kgs of beef, a cow and arrested 6 people who were presented before the court and have received bail on June 14th.
The arrested have been identified as Adam, Ahmed Bava, Naseer, Muhammed Mustafa, Nasir Hussain and Latif, all residents of Loretto.
Previously on June 9th, the same illegal abattoir was raided and 150 kgs of beef, 5 cows, a pick-up vehicle and other equipment were seized, however the accused had managed to escape.
Planned Raid
This time, the police conducted a systematic raid and made effort not give out any clue about the raid. There has been continuous functioning of illegal abattoirs in this area. They used to steal cows from various locations, tie them up on the hill and secretly slaughter them, informed the police.
