Bantwal: Flouting norms laid for disposal of medical waste, a vehicle was found carrying and dumping hospital waste from Kasaragod at a deserted location at Ukkuda near the Kalladka-Kanhangad highway on Wednesday.

Noticing this, the locals chased and intercepted the vehicle and later handed it over to the police.

A similar incident was reported near Chelladka Amai road in Kepu village recently. The public had informed Vitla police regarding the improper disposal of the hospital waste.

It is now gathered that the vehicle seized by the police was involved in disposing of hospital waste at Kepu village as well.

Notably, the vehicle driver admitted that he had disposed of hospital waste in a similar manner on multiple occasions in the past.
