Bantwal: Lorry driver seriously injured in container lorry-bus collision

Bantwal: A container lorry collided head-on with a private bus at Bantwal on Saturday, March 9.

The lorry driver has been seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Many passengers in the private bus escaped with minor injuries.

Information about the injured individuals in the bus, and the lorry driver, is yet to be ascertained.

The container lorry moving towards Moodabidiri from BC Road while the private bus was heading from Moodabidiri to Bantwal.

The bus was carrying several passengers, including students commuting to college. Locals said the accident occurred next to a steep gorge.

Bantwal traffic police have visited the scene of the incident.
