Bantwal: Man arrested for selling ‘beef’ on two-wheeler

Bantwal:‎‎ A man who was allegedly selling beef on a two-wheeler was arrested from Goodinabali by the Bantwal City police on March 27.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Mustafa of Bolanthur, was produced before the court, police said.

About 20 kg of meat was also seized from him, police added.

According to the police, the accused along with some of his friends stole cattle and illegally slaughter them on Sundays. The meat was then sold to customers’ doorsteps.

Based on a credible tip-off, raided the vehicle and stopped the illegal trade.
