In a shocking incident, a man was assaulted and robbed of his valuables after accepting a ride in Bantwal. The victim, identified as M. Gangadhar, a resident of Virajpet in Kodagu, lost his gold jewelry and cash in the incident.

Gangadhar arrived at B.C. Road from Virajpet around 9 PM on Friday, August 9. He was waiting for transportation to his brother’s house in Narikombu, Bantwal. During this time, an unknown car approached him, and the occupants inquired about his destination. They offered him a ride, claiming they were heading in the same direction.

However, shortly after the car started moving, two individuals sitting in the backseat assaulted Gangadhar. They forcibly took an 80,000-rupee gold chain and 2,000 rupees in cash from him before pushing him out of the car and fleeing the scene.
