Bantwal: Man drowns to death in slushy paddy field

A 31-year-old man died of drowning in a slushy paddy field near Polali here on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Damodar, a resident of Kariyangala village in Sanur Padavu.
Reportedly Damodar had gone to the paddy field to catch edible snails. As the field was swamped with muddy water, he sat on the farm bund but accidentally slipped and fell into the water.
He was not able to pull himself up and died before he could be rescued.
Damodar is survived by his parents, wife, and a child. Bantwal rural police registered a case.
